Scholarship application window Extended to May 17, 2024!

Although there are many possible definitions of a nontraditional student, the below are the requirements for the Next Stage scholarships. 

• GED Recipient
• Homeless       
• Enrolled in college/High School 5+ years since last attendance
• Jail Time/Arrest record
• Orphans 21 or younger
• Single custodial parent 
• Trafficking survivors

Scholarship Requirements:

• Attend any four-year college/university during the 2024-2025 academic year
• Meet the requirements of Next Stage's nontraditional student definition (see above)    
• Be a resident of the Southeast United States (AL, FL, GA, KY, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA, or WV)
• Submit completed scholarship application (below)
• Submit a two (2) minute video answering the following:

               -Who are you? Tell us your story.

               -Why you deserve to receive this scholarship?

               -What does a second chance mean to you? 

               -How will you give back to the community? 

               -What are your career goals?

• Provide one (1) reference we may contact.

               Select someone that supports you in your journey (no family or friends). 

               Examples include but not limited to: School Resource, 

               Employer/Supervisor, Community Leader/Volunteer Supervisor, 

               Religious Leader/Connections.
